Knapp Farm is more than a piece of land — it is the living thread of a family’s story. My grandfather began as a gentleman farmer in New Hampshire, before putting down roots here in Southington, where his vision built homes, businesses, and a way of life. My grandmother carried that same spirit of building into her own legacy, founding the real estate agency that I now continue as a third-generation broker.
That spirit of legacy did not stop there. Farming has always been in our blood — stretching back through generations of hands that worked the soil, raised animals, and believed that life is richest when it is rooted in the earth. Today, I carry that forward not by repeating the past exactly as it was, but by drawing on its values to shape a life for the present.
Alongside me, Robbie carries his own heritage of service, walking in the footsteps of generations before. Together, we are weaving two legacies — one of cultivating land, the other of community protection— into the life we are building here at Knapp Farm.
This farm is both remembrance and renewal. It is the echo of the generations before us, and the promise that what is sown here today will grow into something lasting for tomorrow. Rooted in heritage, it is built for modern living — a place where family, work, and wonder meet in the everyday rhythms of farm life.

Rooted in the soil first tended by James and Diana Putnam in the early 1990s, the farm carries a legacy of hard work, family values, and a deep love of the Connecticut countryside. What began as a family dream has grown into a modern heritage farm—old barns, new beginnings—where every sunrise feels like a fresh chapter.
